Forever wandering into the eternal darkness – a principal accord of the Obscurist. To venture into the great Unknown, that which is the only aspect in merit of truth that can never be defined or justified by any material sensibility of value. It is the essence of being, to confront one Self in true isolation of all vanities, in the depths of one’s solitude without any doubt or question. The great charlatans and sorcerers of the ages have all attempted to fabricate a sense of their world through misguided perception by painting or engraving an idealization of the stars up above. And contrariwise, demonized all that persists below and beyond their understanding. But all they have transmuted is but a mere sensory imprint of the imperfect reflection impeded by their limited gnosis. A pursuit of transcendentalism for the Fool who cannot see the All Eventual for all their visionary delusions imminent of their own great Fall. They have all attempted to make sense of their world, but only a world of senses. In other words the Material world has primarily been mapped out by such Empirical arrogance, whereas the Underworld or the hidden realm has been kept secret to those who wish to retain that empowering knowledge to themselves. Obscurism is the undefinable aspect of the Wandering Seer, the Lone Hermit, it is the true essence of the mystical path that is as of yet unpaved. The journey of the Everyman that is unconquerable. It is not One way or the 'true' Way but instead it is a variable of eventualities amongst which all emanate to and from the Void of all consciousness and hold the sentience of the Abstract unto the realms of the empirical and the occult. Obscurism is the beginning and end in regards to the study of the All Eventual. Thus the philosophy concentrates on that which IS as opposed to that which is defined or perceived to be. Obscurism transcends throughout a multitude of subjects that have all referred to the Abstract in understanding the essence of being and beyond the cosmos and the abyss. It manifests not as a dogma but instead as a principle that which never sees the "light" of day. It relegates back to the concept of the Land of Nod... or the "wandering" Magos, who would venture forth into the obscure recesses of the World of Mystery. We find this reference in such iconographic characters as Lilith who was cast out of the Garden of Delights, as well as Cain, the first daemon born of human. The Abstract is the polarity of the Aether and thus the true Obscurist follows no path other than that which he creates, contrary to the popular saying of the blind leading the blind, the Obscurist walks into the darkness not blind or bound but aware – therefore observes and perceives to their own understanding of the Unknown. That which is not known can only be understood for that which IS as opposed to knowing for the sake of understanding. This is the underlying schism of the Obscurist Tradition which can be traced to primordial cultures and esoteric traditions prior to their corruption and usurpation towards a material and superficial hierarchy manifest in most doctrines and dogmas today. These varying traditions were not only founded deep within the dark, cavernous reaches of Plato’s idealized Cave, but also in the vast, isolated deserts of the ages. In the darkness one shall find their truth and within that they shall come to their own eventuality of understanding without relying on the gnosis of reference and hearsay ascribed through the dogmatic undercurrents of the religious pathways that maintain control today. The Obscurist Tradition can be regarded as prevalent and applicable to the primordial beliefs and foundations of : · Vodou · Necromancy (prior to the Middle Ages and grimoire practices relegated to the Jesuit Order) · Khemetia (prior to the cultivation of the Monadic pursuit of Enlightenment) · Shamanism (unaffiliated to New Age manifestations) · Animism · Hermeticism · Western Mysteries · Daoism · Odinani · Shinto · Shenism · Dharma (primarily the Vedic tradition) · Practices found in pre-Christian Paganism · Geomancy · Sacred Geomatria (true basis of Mason rites as opposed to the Freemasonic brotherhood) · Aspects of Demonology/Angeology · The Paranormal · Folklore · Primordial mythography · Psionics · Ante-Diluvian mythos · Chaos magic and Discordianism
